PROTECT OUR OWN CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS DO NOT BECOME STRANGERS IN OUR OWN HOMELAND

More disgraceful than a corpse in a garbage dump is when the descendants of kings fail to protect the ancestral heritage that has been passed down for generations by the Sundanese forefathers.
Anton Charliyan, affectionately known as Abah Anton, continues to consistently preserve and protect the authentic cultural heritage of the Sundanese ancestors so that it will not be eroded by the changing times and the rapid flow of modernization.
He reminds the younger generation, especially Gen Z, not to lose their identity by blindly following foreign cultures without preserving and valuing their own cultural roots. Progress and modern development may be embraced, but the roots of Sundanese customs and traditions must remain safeguarded as the identity and honor of the Sundanese people.
With the spirit of “hayu urang babarengan” (let us unite together), Abah Anton invites community leaders, youth, cultural figures, and society as a whole to work hand in hand in preserving the original heritage of the Sundanese ancestors. This includes the Sundanese language, traditional customs, cultural arts, traditional children’s games, pencak silat, karinding, wayang golek, as well as the noble values of silih asah, silih asih, and silih asuh — the timeless wisdom inherited from the land of Pasundan.
The Land of Parahyangan is a land rich in culture, abundant in natural resources, and deeply rooted in local wisdom. Therefore, it is the shared responsibility of all people to protect, nurture, and continue the ancestral cultural heritage so it remains alive within society and is not lost to the passage of time.
“Ulah nepi ka kabuyutan direbut ku batur.”
“Do not let our sacred ancestral heritage be taken by others.”
Let us preserve Sundanese culture, uphold the dignity of our ancestors, and protect our national identity for future generations.***
