Sunda Djati Successfully Hosts West Java Creative Jaipong Competition and Nusantara Culinary Festival at Cimahi Mall

Cimahi, iNet99.id | The Sunda Djati Foundation successfully organized the West Java Creative Jaipong Competition and the Nusantara Culinary Festival, culminating in a grand celebration on May 30–31, 2026. The event was held at the Basement Area of Cimahi Mall, located on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Setiamanah, Cimahi Tengah District, Cimahi City, West Java.
The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Puspa Citra Kemala, stated that the West Java Creative Jaipong Competition attracted 80 participants from various regions across West Java. The enthusiasm displayed by both participants and the public reflected a strong commitment to preserving Sundanese arts and cultural heritage.
According to Fredy Siswadi, the organizing committee upheld the principles of transparency and professionalism throughout the judging process to ensure that every participant received fair and objective evaluations.
“We prioritize transparency to ensure that there is no manipulation in the judging process. For us, the moment a participant steps onto the stage, they have already become a winner, as they have gone through a long journey of dedication, preparation, and perseverance to reach that point,” said Fredy Siswadi.
On the occasion, Fredy Siswadi, Chairman of the Sunda Djati Foundation, also expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Cimahi City Government, particularly the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports (Disbudparpora), the Mayor of Cimahi, the Cimahi Cultural Council, and the management of Cimahi Mall for their invaluable support and cooperation in facilitating the event.
“If we do not support and fight for the preservation of our arts and culture, then who will? For us, culture is non-negotiable. We will continue to champion cultural preservation in the years ahead. Our motto is: ‘The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is Non-Negotiable, and Culture is Our Pride and Identity,’” Fredy Siswadi emphasized.
The winners of the West Java Creative Jaipong Competition will receive certificates and trophies as recognition of their achievements, talent, and dedication to preserving traditional dance arts.
The competition brought together participants from numerous cities and regencies across West Java, including Tasikmalaya, Karawang, Purwakarta, Sukabumi, West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, and Cimahi City.
In addition to the Creative Jaipong Competition and the Nusantara Culinary Festival, the closing ceremony on May 31, 2026, featured a traditional Bajidoran performance presented by PHJM under the leadership of Isal Copo from Cimahi City.
Through this event, the Sunda Djati Foundation hopes to ensure that Sundanese arts and cultural traditions continue to flourish, inspire younger generations, and remain an essential part of Indonesia’s rich cultural identity and national heritage.
